Spotlight on: Jord Watches

Go raw … on your wrist. Jord Watches is a company that creates artistic, one-of-a-kind pieces made from natural raw materials found all over the world. While the shells of their watches are made from a variety of different woods (zebrawood, dark sandalwood, bamboo, rosewood, and ebony and maple), the faces are intricately designed with high fashion elements. Wooden watches brings something different to the go-to golds, silvers, leathers and chromes by providing a rustic, masculine and eco-friendly element to your collection. What’s special about this brand is that each watch is an artistic masterpiece and the characteristics differ depending on the artist creating it and the natural sources used to make it.The watch I’m wearing is made with two different types of wood: zebrawood and dark sandalwood. It’s lightweight, which I love, because it doesn’t weigh down your wrist or irritate the skin underneath. I love to throw this on as a statement piece. Living in a concrete jungle, I’m all for wearing a little bit of nature! Shop the watch here.

Protect Your Skin

Your skin needs protection every single day. Even on overcast days, UV light penetrates clouds leaving your skin exposed to harmful rays. I admit, I have not always been the best with applying sunscreen every day, but starting today, I’ll never miss a morning of applying sunscreen again. Drunk Elephant is a brand that I just discovered, and I cannot get enough of their products. Their science reviews are off the charts. What I love about their sunscreen is that it doesn’t leave your face feeling oily and greasy like so many others do. A big reason why I wasn’t applying sunscreen daily was because I hated that feeling. This product is moisturizing instead of greasy. The sunscreen is unscented, non-toxic and infused with ingredients like Sunflower Shoot Extract, Marula Oil and Raspberry Seed Oil. It also contains an ingredient called Umbra which is loaded with antioxidants and prevents oxidative cell damage and photoaging (damage done to the skin over a person’s lifetime exposed to UV radiation). I also love that this product is fragrance-free …

Bring the closet to you

I’m always on the hunt for a great pair of jeans. It’s tough to shop for because every brand has a different cut and without trying the jeans on before buying them, it’s hard to guess if the size and fit will be right for your body type. That’s why I was thrilled to try jeans from company Mott & Bow!They created a free home try-on program to bring the dressing room to you (think Warby Parker, but for jeans)! If you are unsure between two different sizes (which I always am when denim shopping), they will send you two pairs of jeans and you can return one back to the company for free with a prepaid label. The convenience alone is a reason to shop there, but these jeans are also super comfortable and priced at a reasonable $96. ?? Shop the look here!

Skin Secret: Turmeric

Some may classify me as turmeric obsessed. I have been cooking with this spice for over three years because of the numerous health benefits. Turmeric is cancer preventative, a natural anti-inflammatory, reduces cholesterol, and improves digestion. Aside from the internal benefits, turmeric also works wonders on your skin. I was thrilled when Kiehl’s recently launched their Tumeric and Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque. Turmeric is an antioxidant that is anti-aging and improves skin elasticity. It instantly brightens and energizes your skin, giving off a natural glow. After applying this mask, my skin felt hydrated and awakened. I especially loved when washing the mask off, the cranberry seeds act as an exfoliator and give your skin a deep cleanse. I don’t always get the amount of sleep needed throughout the week, so products like this are imperative to help the skin maintain its healthy glow. You can buy the mask here and see for yourself how great turmeric is for your skin. My challenge to you is to add a little more of this spice into …

The Fontainebleau

An important weekend deserves a memorable hotel. That’s why for our wedding tasting we stayed at the iconic Fontainebleau Hotel. I always heard impressive things about the Fontainebleau and being a huge fan of Old Hollywood, I loved the history behind it. The hotel opened in 1954 and everyone from Frank Sinatra to Elvis Presley to Presidents like John F. Kennedy have stayed there. The Fontainebleau surpassed every expectation I had. We opened the door to our room and were greeted by floor to ceiling windows with a balcony overlooking the ocean. The view was picturesque and the room and view instantly made me feel zen. The hotel has several different heated pools around the property and connects to its own private beach. Being a total beach boy, we grabbed our towels and headed to the sand where servers brought over Sancerre & Pear White Sangria…heaven! After a little R&R we retreated back to our room to get ready for a night out with some friends. Just when I thought it couldn’t get better, I hopped in …
